Students,
I would like to introduce you to the Create Your Country Project. This project is meant to encompass all of the themes of geography that we have been working on for the past 6 weeks. There are several steps that you will need to follow. Everything is listed here, in order, with examples of what my country would be.

Step 1:
Please read the document titled Create a Country Introduction HERE. This is an overview of the assignment along with all of the requirements. Ask any questions that you may have at this time.

Step 2: Open and review the document titled Create a Country Worksheet Here. This is worksheet that was discussed in the introduction. Take a look at it and save a copy in your Google drive. DO NOT start working on your worksheet yet.

Step 3: Open and review the document titled create a country worksheet Kochmit HERE. This is an example for you to take a look at. It is my expectation that your worksheet will contain at least as much information as mine, if not more.

Step 4: Complete your create a country worksheet. After it is complete, please share it with me from Google drive, akochmit1@gmail.com. Then come to my desk so I can review it with you. Once you have my approval, please proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Review the document titled Kochlandia Map Here.

Step 6: Visit http://rollforfantasy.com/tools/map-creator.php This is where you will be able to create a map just like mine. There are several features that you can add such as mountains, oceans, lakes, etc. Once your map is finished, please raise your hand or come to my desk so that I can help you save your map to your computer.

Step 7: Review the My Country Project Power Point Here. This is an example of what your Google Slides presentation can look like. it does not have to be the same format as mine, this is just an example of what yours may look like.

Step 8: Please complete your Google Sides presentation through your Google Drive account. When you are finished with your presentation, please share it with me (akochmit1@gmail.com), and come up to my desk to review it with me. After you are given my approval, you can move on to the next step.

Step 9: Please review the media presentation titled My Country Project Presentation Here. This is an example of what VoiceThread will look and sound like once it is complete. Once you have viewed the presentation, you may proceed to the next step.

Step 10: You will upload your completed Google Slides presentation to VoiceThread (www.voicethread.com). Please come to my desk and I will assist you with this process. Once it is uploaded, I will show you how to do commentary on each slide. You will record a short presentation for each slide. Once each slide has commentary, you may share your VoiceThread with me (akochmit1@gmail.com).

Step 11: Please take a look at the rubric titled Create a Country Rubric Here. This is what I will use to grade your project. You may go back and check any items that you have shared with me. Any changes that you will make will automatically update in the version that you have already shared with me.

Step 12: Upload your presentation into our Google Classroom account. You will only upload your presentation, no other documents. Again, I will assist you with this, if needed. Additionally, we will be working on all of these processes in our technology class as well.

Step 13: Review your classmate's presentations that have been uploaded on Google Classroom. You are expected to watch/listen to and leave a comment on at least 3 presentations. You can review more, but you cannot review less than 3!

Step 14: RELAX! You just completed your first major project of the year. This is one of four IB projects that you will complete for MYP program here at Langston!
